What is Namwon known for? Namwon is know mainly for Chunhyang, which is kind of like Korea's "Romeo & Juliet," but better in my opinion. Every year in May, there's a huge festival in her honor (more on that below). Depending on you ask, some will say pansori, a super traditional style of Korean music, originated in Namwon.
